At a Special Called meeting today, the Board of Public Utilities approved the following resolution:

  • Extension of Union Joint Statements of Intent: 
    Extends the existing Joint Statements of Intent for IBEW Local 753, Amalgamated Transit Union Local 691, and Laborers International Unions of North America Local 663. The Joint Statements of Intent existing between the Board of Public Utilities and each bargaining group, scheduled to expire April 2, 2009, will be extended through April 2, 2012.
Additionally, the Board of Public Utilities was advised of the following:

  • Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act (PURPA)
    A public hearing will be scheduled to discuss proposed changes and additions to PURPA. The changes include standards that if adopted would apply to energy efficiency standards for electric and natural gas utilities.
